QUEER

[ PERSONAL DEFINITION ] I define as someone who lives Non-NORMative expressions of living. NOT to be misunderstood to mean the more commonly known definition of QUEER as an umbrella term based on identity categories to represent L.G.B.T.Q+ people only.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT of COUNTRY

I, Ethan Kristy acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Australians.  I recognise their cultures, histories and diversity and their deep connection to the lands, waters and seas of Australia and the Torres Strait. I acknowledge the Jagera people and the Turrbal people as the Traditional Custodians of Meanjin (Brisbane), the lands on which my art practice is located and where I meet, work and learn. I pay my respects to Jagera and Turrbal Elders past, present and emerging.

Pre-transition

My days as a child, teenager and young adult as female bodied. I am proud of my histories. Being born female had its many frustrations, discomfort, dysphoria but…
