Histories of Masculinities
Celebrating the rich diversity of our community also includes our histories and the lived experiences we come with.
Gender is no longer what you have down your pants nor should it be restricted to how you present your gender today nor is it just choosing a side, it’s fluid and expressive. A person’s history as male is not void when they change, transition, add, remove or modify body parts that sit outside what most consider the ideal authentic masculine body! People should be validated in ALL their lived experiences (The Past, Present and Future).
Our culture is dominated by the visual, I hope this work provokes discussion and brings a voice to the issue of locking people out or in based on their body. Accepting people’s voice in their masculine histories, no matter what their origins, birth gender or current gender expression only enriches our community.
